Lidl Grocery Store Opening In Park Slope: What We Know: “Lidl, the European grocery giant that has expanded in the United States over the last few years, is set to open the Park Slope outpost at 120 Fifth Avenue. The location, a former Key Foods, is currently under development, according to developers.” (Park Slope Patch)
This Creative Haven in Park Slope Is More Than Just a Gallery: “Now, the 19th St. Gallery by Printique, a new community hub located in the heart of Park Slope, is fostering a space for artists, designers, photographers and other artists to meet and appreciate each others’ art. The 19th St. Gallery will be open through February 29 and was curated by Printique, an online photo lab based in Brooklyn that handcrafts artisan-made prints. The Brooklyn Bird Club will lead Prospect Park’s GBBC contingent in an effort to count birds and create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Sightings made during the walk will be submitted to the GBBC website and are used by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to learn more about how birds are doing, and how to protect them and the environment we share.” (12:00 PM, Prospect Park)
🌳Mid-Winter Recess: “Join Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs for Mid-Winter Recess at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.
Nature Around Us, 12–3 pm: Enjoy different seasonal discovery stations and nature themed activities that will introduce you to the plants, insects and animals that call the park home. The Lake and Lullwater are home to many plants and animals. Help us to test the water quality and investigate pond samples that are filled with living organisms.
