🗒A Note on Our Months of Primary Election Coverage: With Election Night behind us, we’re proud of how we covered the primary for months on The Walk:
In February we informed you of the Valentine’s Day deadline to register with your party.
In April we noted that Cuomo was campaigning against a caricature of Park Slope. We sat down with Council Member Shahana Hanif for an informational interview. Our profile of Primary Bootcamp founder Sachi Takahashi-Rial drove dozens of locals into NYC primary bootcamp, including 40 locals who explored the launch party in Gowanus. (Seeing how many of you clicked through and hearing from Sachi how many of you showed up registered for bootcamp was amazing.)
In May, we broke down all the ways Park Slope and surrounding neighborhoods were lining up against Cuomo–both our reps and the voters. And we outlined why we have such a uniquely powerful neighborhood within which to organize.
In June, we highlighted the enormous spend by outside groups like Uber and MSG targeting Hanif. We gave you all the info you needed for early voting, and created The Park Slope Walk’s first voting guide, explaining our support for each candidate.
If you want actionable information about elections, and if you want your neighbors informed, please consider supporting The Park Slope Walk. Paid subscribers get full access to our Sunday events newsletter and features, as well as access to our private spreadsheet of events months into the future.
Or, if you know someone who would like all the benefits of a paid subscription, you can gift it to them.
And, if you tell a neighbor or recommend us on social media, it really helps!
Thank you all!
