🎸Jonathan Richman @ Bell House on 3/7 and 3/10: The first two shows at The Bell House sold out, but two more have tickets left. From the artist himself: “The music we’re doing now works well in quiet places like theaters and performing art centers. We still don’t use a program or a set list so we don’t know what we’ll do until we do it. Please do not expect old songs. Many singers my age do a retrospective; this show is not like that.” (3/7 @ 9:00 PM or 3/10 @ 9:00 PM, Bell House, $40)

💋👠Fanfic, Fandom, And Forbidden Pleasure: Rom Fest 2024: “Some genres are relegated to "non-literary" status, living as guilty pleasures, frivolous and derivative. And, of course, across the board, most of these works are written by women. This year, fishmarket theatre co., a group of interdisciplinary, clown-trained, NYC-based theatre artists are collaborating with “Pod & Prejudice” on a festival shamelessly toasting lady literature, counter-cultural self-publication, fanfiction, smut, and everything in between with play readings, podcast shows, and a few other surprises.”(6:30 PM, The Ripped Bodice, $45)
Tomasz Różycki Presents 'To The Letter' In Conversation With Translator Mira Rosenthal: “Różycki's 'To the Letter' follows Lieutenant Anielewicz on the hunt for any clues that might lead 21st century human beings out of a sense of despair. With authoritarianism rising across Eastern Europe, the Lieutenant longs for a secret hero. At first, he suspects some hidden mechanism afoot: fruit tutors him in the ways of color, he drifts out to sea to study the grammar of tides, or he gazes at the sun as it thrums away like a timepiece. In one poem, he admits "this is the story of my confusion," and in the next the Lieutenant is back on the trail. "This lunacy needs a full investigation," he jibes.”
