The result looks like a quiche or a frittata. In an era in which eggs have become increasingly expensive, it’s a signature pastry that carries some weight. It ponders the challenges and contradictions of preserving this cultural heritage, especially in an era of political turbulence when the protesters who fill the streets are making their own separate demands. Like Resnais’ film, the library is personified, a living witness to the struggles that continue to shape the city.”(4:30 PM, BAM, $17)

And years later, was Handel a victim of the same doctor?Allegro follows his investigation, from the salons of London to the streets of Paris, recreating an enthralling and turbulent time, full of rogues and brilliant composers, charlatans and presumptuous nobles.” (7:00 PM, Central Library)

Non-professionals Umi Ishihara and Xiao Deng play versions of themselves—solitary after-hours workers going about their mundane duties night after night. Imagining themselves as explorers lost in a labyrinth or marooned on an island, they embark on small, playful adventures both together and apart, as the library's vast yet shrinking collection becomes a playground for their own stories and secrets. ”(7:15 PM, BAM, $17)

As punishment, Mary does time as a clerk at the New York Public library where the indefatigable wild child winningly transfers her club beats and dance moves to the loans desk, book stacks, and Dewey Decimal System.”(9:00 PM, BAM, $17)
