🗳Vote Early in the Democratic Primary Starting Saturday … And Tell a Neighbor: Park Slope is a neighborhood of engaged and generally aligned voters. There’s no place in the city where you can have more impact by nudging a neighbor to vote than you can right here during a Democratic primary. If you want to prep or help your neighbors prep, check out this list of resources from The City:
“Double-check your registration here. (Remember: To vote in a primary, you have to be registered with a party.)
Find your early voting site, Primary Day voting site and sample ballot here (after you enter your address).
Refresh your memory on how ranked choice voting works and ranking strategy. TL;DR — Do not rank anyone you hate, but do fill in as many spots on your ballot as you can with candidates you can stand.” (The City)
🚫👑Anti-Trump 'No Kings, No Cuts' Rally @ Grand Army Plaza Saturday: “Protesters in New York City and across the country will take to the streets Saturday in ‘No Kings’ rallies nationwide to coincide with a military parade commemorating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary that falls on Donald Trump’s 79th birthday ... This is not a march, but a stationary rally happening at Grand Army Plaza.” (Patch)

News and Links
Brad Lander’s Gowanus Victory Lap: “the Gowanus Canal, after nearly five years of cleanup, is no longer emitting a rank odor. By the mid-aughts, when Lander was the local councilmember, it was already clear the neighborhood would, like so many others in Brooklyn, be transformed by the wealth coursing through the borough, even if the toxic canal held off that change a little bit longer than elsewhere. The challenge for Lander was to channel it in a way that would bring benefits to the people living there, not just the ones moving in.” (Curbed)
Grand Army Plaza Arch Emerges From Two-year, $8.9M Restoration: “Since the original blueprints no longer exist, they used radar and magnetic imaging to create detailed scans of the structure’s interior. These scans, along with past restoration records and surveys, guided a thorough rehabilitation effort, according to the group.” (The Brooklyn Paper)
