Saturday Easter Egg Hunts
Casita of Brooklyn Scavenger Egg Hunt: ‘Adults will accompany their children on an adventure area around the Park Slope area solving clues. Once all clues are solved there will be fun activities and food/drinks available for the kiddos. Special alcoholic and caffeinated drink prices for parents.’ (1PM, $25, Casita of Brooklyn)
Governor’s Island: ‘Join for the first-ever public egg hunt on Governors Island this spring! 10,000 wooden painted eggs will be hidden throughout the Island’s 120 acres of open space, with Island-specific prizes and giveaways for the most hard-boiled egg hunters.’ (10 AM, Governor’s Island)
Free Community Easter Egg Hunt & Cookout: ‘We will be having four total egg hunts separated by age. 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. When registering please indicate how many you will have in each age bracket. We will also be having prizes and giveaways throughout the entire event AND the Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance for pictures!’ (11:00 AM, Free but fully booked*, Prospect Park 15th Street Entrance)

Spring Break in the Park + the Garden
Public school’s out, the carousel is open, it’s sunny next week, and the park has programming to keep kids busy:
Every Day but Monday: Seasonal Highlights Tour @Brooklyn Botanic Garden. ‘Discover BBG’s plants and gardens in peak bloom and other highlights of the season in this free walk led by trained Garden Guides.’ (Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1PM)
Saturday: Spring Opening at the Audubon Center. ‘Families and children can learn about bird migration through interactive games, animal encounters and much more. (10:00AM, Prospect Park)
Saturday: Prospect Park Tours with Turnstile Tours. ‘Discover hidden treasures, natural wonders and little-known tales on interactive guided tours of Prospect Park in the heart of Brooklyn, presented by Turnstile Tours in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance.’ (10:30 AM, Prospect Park)
Sunday: Super Hike with Urban Park Rangers: ‘Take a long hike through one of his most famously pastoral parks and escape the busy feel of the city. Explore the hidden paths, waterways, meadows and woods the way that Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux intended for visitors in this 585 acre green gem of Brooklyn. The hike will begin on Parkside Avenue and South Lake Drive. (12:00 PM, Prospect Park)
Sunday: Introduction to Birdwatching Outings. ‘Whether you’re just starting out or have already joined the birding ranks, this introductory outings is for you! All levels are welcome and walks will begin at the Prospect Park Audubon Center. No registration necessary. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring binoculars if you have them.’ (10:00 AM, Prospect Park)
Monday: It’s My Park Day. ‘Looking to get involved in a park clean-up effort? Join Prospect Park Alliance for It’s My Park Day to care for the park after busy weekends. All necessary tools will be provided for your volunteer experience. This event is appropriate for teens and adults. (10:00 AM, Prospect Park)
Thursday: Nature Exploration. ‘Join Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation. (12:00 PM, Prospect Park)

Gowanus Art Walk: ‘Local collage artist Rich Garr leads this comfortable open-air exploration through the Gowanus waterfront. He is a longtime area interdisciplinary artist focusing on public art and community. These walking tours respond to both current events and history, and a central component of his interdisciplinary collage art practice.
